- From the home screen, select the App menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select Privacy.
- Select Factory Data Reset (at the bottom).
- Click Erase SD Card box if desired and Click the Reset Phone button.
- If prompted, enter the current passcode (usually last 4 digits of the phone number).
- Click the Erase Everything buttton.
- The phone will complete the factory data reset and then reboot.
If the phone's home screen is locked with a forgotten or unknown passcode, perform the following steps for a factory reset:
- Shut the phone completely off
- Open the slider keyboard
- Press and hold the Power button and the X key simultaneously until an exclamation point inside a triangle and the android figure appears
- Release the Power and X key
- Press the Volume Up and Down buttons simultaneously
- The Android Recovery Menu will appear
- Release the Volume Up and Down buttons
- Using the Volume Up and Down buttons, highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Press the Power Button to select
- The screen will prompt "Confirm Wipe of All User Data"
- Using the Volume Up and Down buttons, highlight "Yes -Delete All User Data"
- Press the Power Button to select
- The screen will prompt as it completes steps (Wiping Data, Formatting Data, Formatting Cache, and Data Wipe Complete)
- Once the Data Wipe is complete, using the Volume Up and Down buttons, highlight Reboot System Now
