Deleting Citrix Published Application Fails

When attempting to delete a Citrix published application, you encounter the following error:
Delete Failed

Error deleting application

and the following helpful error description: Unknown error occurred


Resolution:
change the display name, change the application name and change the application description. Application will now delete properly.
