How to Resolve PDF Documents Will Not Open in Internet Explorer 10 / 11
After setting Adobe Acrobat Reader or another application as the default application for files with a PDF extension, if PDF documents will still not open in IE 10 or 11, perform the following steps:
- Run Regedit
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
- Click Edit
- Click New
- Click DWORD
- Enter Value Name: TabProcGrowth
- Enter Value Data: 1
- Click OK
- close regedit
- Restart the computer
